"Causes of lichen pilaris"
The causes of lichen pilaris were thought to be due to vitamin A deficiency, abnormal hormone metabolism, and abnormal fat gland function, but in recent years, a clear cause has been established, with specific genetic mutations being thought to be the cause. Currently, it has not been specified.It can be seen on various parts of the face and body, such as the upper arms, back, buttocks, and thighs. When the pores become filled with dead skin cells and become clogged, the tips of the keratin plugs protrude, causing a bumpy or rough feeling. Symptoms such as:Redness or brown pigmentation may occur due to enlarged capillaries or mild inflammation.

Currently, no definitive treatment has been established for the treatment of lichen pilaris, which commonly occurs on the upper arms and back.Many people may try over-the-counter topical medications or peels, but the reality is that simply removing dead skin cells and promoting epidermal turnover is often insufficient for therapeutic effects.
At our hospital, we recommend treatment with Dermapen 4 or Dermapen as one of the few effective treatments.
In lichen pores, dead skin cells block the exits of pores, creating closed spaces and causing inflammation.Inflammation is thought to extend deep into the dermis as it spreads along the pores to the dermis, which is deeper than the epidermis, and it is thought to be effective to treat not only the epidermis but also the deep dermis. .
Dermapen 4 or Dermapen stimulates the skin by creating small invisible holes on the skin surface, and utilizes the skin's regenerative ability to improve the skin's condition.Although it may take a few times, the bumps on your upper arms and back that were difficult to cure and you were about to give up on will be reborn as smooth skin.

As the name suggests, Dermapen 4 is shaped like a pen, and the tip of the pen has more than 10 ultra-fine needles.The ultra-fine needle punctures the skin perpendicularly to stimulate it.The length of the needle can be adjusted to suit the area to be treated.For example, the skin around the eyes is thin, so the needle is inserted shallowly.In addition, the skin on the cheeks and other areas is thick, so the needle should be inserted deeply.Using a long needle, it is possible to puncture the dermis, which is deeper than the epidermis on the skin's surface.
Dermapen 4 is a device that causes as little damage to the epidermis as possible, so there is less pain and bleeding, and the needle is inserted vertically, making it easier to penetrate the skin tissue.Because ultra-fine needles are used, one of the features is that there is little downtime, although there are individual differences.
Derma roller
This roller is made of medical grade stainless steel and is a treatment device that improves skin concerns such as firmness, fine lines, and acne scars.A roller with about 200 fine needles is rolled over the skin, creating countless tiny punctures on the skin surface and promoting skin regeneration.
