Types of moles and treatments
-
simple mole(=small pigmented nevus)
Lentigo simplex is a condition in which melanocytes, which produce melanin, produce excessive amounts of melanin in shallow areas of the skin. The size of simple lentigines is usually around 1 to 2 mm without a raised area, and the color varies from black, blackish brown, to light brown. The number of simple moles increases with age and the color becomes darker, so many people are concerned about the location of the mole.

Melanocytic nevus
A pigmented nevus is a type of benign birthmark that consists of nevus cells on the surface of the skin and in the dermis, and is a mole that gradually swells as the nevus cells overlap in multiple layers. At first, the mole is small and flat, about 1 mm to 2 mm, but it gradually grows larger and becomes more bulging. There are various types, including those without color and those that are brown. Some appear near the surface of the skin, while others grow towards the dermis.

Senile warts (seborrheic keratoses) are benign tumors of several to 10 mm that appear on the face and body, and may gradually swell or grow in a flat or dome shape. The color ranges from dark brown to black due to the increase in melanin associated with the proliferation of epidermal cells (keratinocytes).
