"Cause of wrinkles"
Wrinkles and sagging occur due to aging (deterioration) of the dermal layer tissue. As we age, the amount of collagen in the dermis decreases, causing the skin to lose its firmness.
What is dermal tissue?
The dermis is located deeper than the epidermis, and the hyaluronic acid contained therein functions to maintain a constant amount of moisture within the dermis. If there is enough water in the dermis, the skin will remain moist and soft and elastic.Approximately 70% of the dermis is made up of elastic fibers called collagen, and the collagen stretches around the skin in a network, giving the skin elasticity and ability to expand and contract.
What are the factors that cause collagen to decrease?
Active oxygen
Active oxygen generated under the influence of ultraviolet rays accelerates skin aging. As collagen decreases, facial muscles gradually sag.
Photoaging
In addition to normal natural aging, aging phenomena such as wrinkles and sagging caused by ultraviolet rays are called photoaging.Due to photoaging, collagen is taken away and the skin loses its firmness.
